The founder of Rehabilitation and Pain Management Associates, Dr. Rosen has served as Medical Director since 1975.
Dr. Rosen was among the pioneer advocates of utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach in the treatment of pain and other disabilities. He has written and lectured extensively on the rehabilitation process and the importance of appropriate utilization of a comprehensive treatment approach to pain management, particularly by being aware of, and appropriately treating, the Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction Syndromes and the Fibromyalgia Syndromes. He is an acknowledged leader in the ongoing research about these enigmatic conditions.
Dr. Rosen has also written and lectured on other subjects pertaining to other medical topics, such as pelvic pain, back and neck pain, sports injuries, music and dance medicine, work-related injuries and disability assessment. As a competitive athlete who has sustained multiple sports-related injuries, and as a pianist, and as a person with Fibromyalgia, he brings a unique personal perspective to the management of these often disabling conditions.
He also has lectured and written on other topics of interest including Piano Wellness, Physical Disabilities in Artists, and Art History.
Dr. Rosen was the first private practicing specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the Baltimore area to institute a multi-disciplinary treatment program in private practice. He was one of the earliest physicians to become Board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and became certified in 1974. Dr. Rosen has been active in many local and national committees dealing with rehabilitation and pain management and has served on many peer review panels.
